High School-Bradley Kim review
Today I’m reviewing ‘High School’ by Bradley Kim!
‘High School’ is a new single from pop singer Bradley Kim Featuring the talented singer songwriter Liam Hull. ‘High School’ is an accompaniment to Kim’s other pop tracks but this one is a lot more personal.
The song was created from Kim’s experiences and struggles being closeted. In a statement from 2018 in USA Today Kim explained that he almost gave up football and music in fear of not being accepted by everyone.
‘High School’ is a beautiful emotionally charged ode to everyone who everyone who has ever had similar experiences with being a part of the LGBTQ+ community. The song is laid out in a familiar pop style with classic acoustic guitar licks mixed with a combination of chalky piano. The lyrics are catchy and amazing and match the slow but rhythmic melody. The lyrics although a little morose I find inspiring.
It takes bravery to be honest, especially to translate your vulnrable experiences and emotions into something public like music.Despite that I think music is best when it’s honest and this song is in many ways an outreach to people who are dealing with similar situations.
Overall I give this track 8/10 slices.I think honest stories like Kim’s are needed in the music industry. If you like singers like Shawn Mendez or Troye Sivan you’ll probably want to give this song a listen!
