True Sight-The Paper Sea review

Today I’m reviewing ‘True Sight’ by The Paper Sea! I’ve been reviewing a lot of acoustic indie songs lately so I figured I’d switch it up and review something from a different genre! :)

The Paper Sea is the solo project of Jared Matt Greenberg who was a cornet player and keyboardist for the post-rock quintet Whale Fall. Greenberg has also placed music in film and television and has had experiences touring the world. ‘True Sight’ is an ambient instrumental single from The Paper Sea’s forthcoming album ‘Shadow Falls.’ which releases on May 21st.

‘True Sight’ is a melodic song which’s main element is piano. This piece has no lyrics and although I usually like listening to music with some form of words I felt like this song spoke for itself. It was really cute and had such a hopeful tone to it! I’m not sure what instruments were used to make this but throughout the song there is a bunch of little sounds and fine details included that just make this incredible!

Again although this song has no words I’ve made up my own interpretation of it. To me I view this song as finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak,seeing/feeling what happiness is like and having ‘True Sight’ of the world and the things around you.

Also this is a bit unrelated to my previous thoughts but I just noticed how on the cover of the song the lights in the background kind of look like eyes which hints to the name of the song and I think that’s quite clever!

Overall I give this single 8/10 slices, if you’re looking for a quick enjoyable song to lift your mood I highly suggest checking this out!
