Siamese TV Lamp-Morbid Orchid Review

 

I’m a fan of band names that rhyme and sound cool so when I was scrolling through BandCamp and I saw Morbid Orchid I wanted to check them out!!!

Morbid Orchid is a grunge/indie duo from Nashville,Tennessee and ‘Siamese TV Lamp’ is their first album!

All of the songs on this record have a strange sense of nostalgia to them,the grungy guitar and the soft calming vocals really make you feel like you’re reminiscing on something that somehow never happened.

For this album I have two favorite tracks ‘Siamese TV Lamp’ and ‘Teenage Love Song’ 

Both are pretty different in terms of vibes but I thought that they were both really good! I really like the contrast between the two,one being a hopeful but self aware love song and the other being a much less hopeful and a more morbid song about a Siamese TV Lamp.I like when albums have that type of dynamic song contrast but keep it all to the same theme. 

Overall I give this record an 8/10 slices! If you like bands like IDKHOW or Arctic Monkeys then you should check them out!
