Motivational Substances-Pizza Crunch review
Today I’m reviewing ‘Motivational Substances’ by Pizza Crunch!
Pizza Crunch is a post punk indie band from Glasgow. The band recently was signed onto a Manchester label Shoplifters Union and is known for having a post punk indie sound.
I believe that it was definitely a strange stroke of luck that led me to reviewing this song because not only is the name of the band pizza themed as well but I had actually been planning to review a song by Pizza Crunch a while ago but couldn’t.
Now without being biast just because Pizza Crunch has pizza in the name I can say that ‘Motivational Substances’ was a fun and addictive indie/rock track.
Lyrically the song is about addiction and I’m not sure if it was meant to be taken metaphorically or literally but either way it’s was an interesting topic. The fast paced melody of ‘Motivational Substances’ has a sort of retro and almost 80’s rhythm that makes for a really ear catching tune that you can’t forget.Speaking of ear catching a thing I really loved about ‘Motivational Substances’ was the vocals. They were clean and matched with the amazing mix of electric and acoustic guitar especially in the chorus.
Overall I give ‘Motivational Substances’ 8.8/10 slices! ‘Motivational Substances’ is one of those songs that is slightly wacky and unconventional(in the best way) that you just can’t get out of your head.I recommend checking out this track if you are a fan of Declan McKenna or if you just want to support some more cool pizza people!
