Eloise-Rooskin review

 

Today I’m reviewing ‘Eloise’ by Rooskin!

Rooskin is a 5 piece indie-surf band from Southend, Essex.They have been featured on BBC Music Introducing not only once but twice.With a steadily growing fan base and a lot of high praise about them I had to give this retro-indie surf track a shot!

Rooskin is a relatively new voice in the indie-surf genre and ‘Eloise’ is their first release since the previous release of their first EP ‘Honey Spells’ which debuted in 2020.

As soon as ‘Eloise’ starts you are greeted by the nostalgically fun upbeat melody followed by a magical string of bass, guitar, and synth.The song’s aesthetically vintage style makes you feel as if you have been transported back in time to the end credits of a perfect summer night out with your friends.One of the things I especially love about this track is the distortion on the vocals and the guitar because I feel like it really drives home the vintage theme.

I think that ‘Eloise’ really captures those brilliant summery feelings and bliss of life that are only experienced a few times in a lifetime.This song is an unforgettable and magical listen with dreamy vocals and lyrics that are dangerously addictive.

Overall I give ‘Eloise’ 8/10 slices! I truly do hope ‘Eloise’ is going to be followed up by a full length album but nothing has been announced yet for now I guess we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled and hope for more amazing additions to their discography! 

This song is a real treasure and it is safe to say that I have no idea who Eloise is but if this song says anything about her she is definitely the main character.If you haven’t already please give this song a listen and end your summer with some good tunes!
